Honeywell does have a good thermostat, so at least you still have a quality product, but I really do hope the NEST becomes compatible with those systems soon. Just from an aesthetic point of view, they look really good, and I've seen nothing but positive reviews on them.I've already directed a couple of friends to your list.

Thanks for the comments Jamie. I did return it, again, as the first one was suspect by their tech support. I assured them that I thought it was working fine. Thankfully they were able to identify that my A/C unit wasn't compatible, which is unfortunate, naturally. I was disappointed to find that they don't post this on their site anywhere. I also suggested to HomeDepot that they post this next to the stack of NESTs that they have so people know that there may be potential issues. Wasted a bunch of time on it. I'll have to wait until they fix the problem before I can upgrade. I just reverted back to the Honeywell programmable that the A/C company installed with the system last summer.

That's no good! They seem like amazing thermostats, but it seems the compatibility information should be made available on their site. It was good of you to post the list for us here. I hope Sacramento HVAC companies have this information posted for their customers. I live just outside Sacramento, in Citrus Heights. I know both of our areas get pretty intense heat!

Were you able to return your thermostat? Have you found a compatible one that you like? I'd love to know what you replaced it with.

You bet it is. In fact, I heard from someone who read the article and
decided to pay off their car instead of buy a house so when they're ready to
buy a house, it will be more of a blessing than a curse :).

And it happens on the tail end as well. Granted, this year has been a bit strange. One weekend we had all of the surrounding mountains in Phoenix covered in snow, and 2 weekends later it's 90 degrees out. Even as a native, I get confused sometimes.

Is this a true statement for you? If it is, there's hope for your
situation. When you go too long without paying your mortgage, your lender
exercises their right to call your loan due and payable in full, and they
issue a Notice of Trustee's sale. This notice is public record, and its
design is to let you know that in 91 days, your house will be put up for
auction, and the result will be a big fat "F" on your record. It's
frightening and can be very embarrassing, but you must know that you are not
alone, and I can successfully help you remedy the situation through what's

Sometimes those purchase contracts have short response deadlines and without the LSR, valuable time is wasted and sometimes contracts expire.

Thanks Lucy. I love writing when I'm inspired. :) Unfortunately, in 2005 we had no idea what was going to happen. In fact, we all believed that the only moves we could make were laterally or up as the lie that the housing prices would continue to rise was widely accepted by most people.

This was a terrific article. It should have been published back in 2005 when the bubble was growing larger and larger. Real, factual, easy on the eyes -- you're a very good writer. Have you written/published anything for the area newspapers? If not, perhaps you should submit.

The first thing you need to understand about loan modifications is that they are a complete and total scam. Their primary purpose is to collect as much financial information about you as possible prior to denying you for the modification. The more information they have about you, the more they can pester you in the future. Banks have ZERO incentive to help you through a loan modification. In fact, the bank stands to make more money faster if it is short sold, or foreclosed upon. In Arizona, when a home owner receives a foreclosure notice, they have 91 days to remedy the situation before their home is auctioned off. I don't know Georgia real estate, but I could put you in touch with someone who does.

If your statements do NOT reflect your payments, then you have a bigger problem, and you need to confront them head on. Remember, the more knowledge you have, the easier it will be when you need to fight them on any of these problems.

Nationstar bought my mortgage from Citimortgage right after I was approved for a modification and both companies assured me I was ok and would continue to pay the new payment.
Now Nationstar is refusing to do that wanting me to go through THEIR modification process, telling me they need me to redo it for their auditors.
On top of that I keep getting foreclosure statements and when I call to ask about that they tell me to not worry about it.
Statements are incorrect and do not reflect any of the last 4 payments I have made on time.
It's gotten ridiculous and I don't know where to go.
